I proudly served as the lead English & Spanish interpreter for this high-level Zoom meeting to discuss the impact of the crisis in the Middle East on agri-food and energy systems in Latin America and the Caribbean.
As part of its Pro Tempore Presidency (PPT) of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC), Uruguay held a high-level technical meeting to discuss the impact of the crisis in the Middle East on agri-food and energy systems in Latin America and the Caribbean. The meeting was supported by the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA).
More than 100 regional experts and senior officials from organizations such as the FAO, ECLAC and IICA attended the meeting, including the FAO Assistant Director-General and Regional Representative for Latin America and the Caribbean, René Orellana Halkyer; the ECLAC Executive Secretary, José Manuel Salazar-Xirinachs; and the IICA Director General, Muhammad Ibrahim.

En el marco de la Presidencia Pro Tempore (PPT) de la Comunidad de Estados Latinoamericanos y Caribeños (CELAC), Uruguay convocó la reunión con el apoyo técnico de la Comisión Económica para América Latina y el Caribe (CEPAL), de la Organización de las Naciones Unidas para la Alimentación y la Agricultura (FAO) y del Instituto Interamericano de Cooperación para la Agricultura (IICA).
En la reunión participaron más de 100 expertos de la región y jerarcas de organismos regionales como el Subdirector General y Representante Regional de la FAO para América Latina y el Caribe, René Orellana Halkyer; el Secretario Ejecutivo de la CEPAL, José Manuel Salazar-Xirinachs; y el Director General del IICA, Muhammad Ibrahim.
