I proudly served as the lead English & Spanish interpreter for this high-level Zoom meeting to discuss the impact of the crisis in the Middle East on agri-food and energy systems in Latin America and the Caribbean.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As part of its Pro Tempore Presidency (PPT) of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC), Uruguay held a high-level technical meeting to discuss the impact of the crisis in the Middle East on agri-food and energy systems in Latin America and the Caribbean. The meeting was supported by the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

More than 100 regional experts and senior officials from organizations such as the FAO, ECLAC and IICA attended the meeting, including the FAO Assistant Director-General and Regional Representative for Latin America and the Caribbean, Ren\u00e9 Orellana Halkyer; the ECLAC Executive Secretary, Jos\u00e9 Manuel Salazar-Xirinachs; and the IICA Director General, Muhammad Ibrahim.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Fue un honor desempe\u00f1ar el cargo de int\u00e9rprete principal de ingl\u00e9s y espa\u00f1ol en esta reuni\u00f3n de alto nivel celebrada a trav\u00e9s de Zoom, en la que se debati\u00f3 sobre el impacto de la crisis de Oriente Medio en los sistemas agroalimentarios y energ\u00e9ticos de Am\u00e9rica Latina y el Caribe<\/p>\n\n\n\n

En el marco de la Presidencia Pro Tempore (PPT) de la Comunidad de Estados Latinoamericanos y Caribe\u00f1os (CELAC), Uruguay convoc\u00f3 la reuni\u00f3n con el apoyo t\u00e9cnico de la Comisi\u00f3n Econ\u00f3mica para Am\u00e9rica Latina y el Caribe (CEPAL), de la Organizaci\u00f3n de las Naciones Unidas para la Alimentaci\u00f3n y la Agricultura (FAO) y del Instituto Interamericano de Cooperaci\u00f3n para la Agricultura (IICA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

En la reuni\u00f3n participaron m\u00e1s de 100 expertos de la regi\u00f3n y jerarcas de organismos regionales como el Subdirector General y Representante Regional de la FAO para Am\u00e9rica Latina y el Caribe, Ren\u00e9 Orellana Halkyer; el Secretario Ejecutivo de la CEPAL, Jos\u00e9 Manuel Salazar-Xirinachs; y el Director General del IICA, Muhammad Ibrahim.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
